Coppiced Christmas Trees
Each year during the holiday season, Forestopia offers beautiful and naturally grown (agri-chemical free) coppiced christmas trees and wreaths. Our trees are sustainably grown and harvested at The Forest Farm in Shutesbury and other sites we manage in the hills of Western Massachusetts and Southern Vermont.
Coppiced trees (also known as stump culture) are not killed when harvested, rather they are cut high with a few branch whorls remaining. New trees are regenerated from the living stump and branches, again and again over many years. This is a much more ecologically sound way of producing trees, with no tillage or soil disturbance, and abundant habitat for wildlife. It is an approach that can be integrated into a more holistic, regenerative agroforestry system, together with livestock, other crops and native trees.
Pre-order a tree here online, and then visit the Boston Public Market to select/pick-up your tree and let it shine in your home!
Tree sizes currently available for pick up at BPM include 5-6ft and 6-7 ft trees.
Available days for pick up at BPM include:
Friday 12/15 from 2pm- 5:30pm
Saturday 12/16 from 10am - 1:30pm

At checkout, please select local pick up (NOTE: please ignore that the location for pick up is given as Shutesbury, MA - your tree will be available at the BPM). After completing checkout, please send email to [email protected] to confirm your day of pick up at the the BPM.
Note: Trees can not be shipped, and are for pick up ONLY at Boston Public Market.
