Good Things Come From Trees! We all love the delicious, healthy treats that trees give us - like nuts, fruits and syrups. But did you know that trees are also critically important for preserving a healthy environment? Trees play a vital ecological role by supplying clean air and water, building healthy soil, providing habitat for wildlife and supporting a diverse food web. At FORESTOPIA, all our products come from trees!
Forestopia Partners Our core mission at Forestopia is to expand market opportunities for tree crops and tree products, all sustainably sourced from well-managed, regenerative agroforestry systems or ecologically sound harvesting of non-timber forest products. We cultivate long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with small-holder grower groups and harvester communities around the globe, to promote sustainable agroforestry and conservation practices, and bring to you healthy and delicious tree products.
Why Agroforestry? Agroforestry methods, which integrate perennial trees with other crops and/or livestock in well-managed systems, can help to increase and diversify farmer incomes while also providing numerous environmental benefits, such as improved soil and water quality, bio-diversity protection and increased carbon sequestration.Similarly, sustainable harvesting of non-timber forest products can be a critical component of successful forest conservation efforts, while also improving the livelihoods of forest-dependent communities and reducing pressure to cut dwindling forest resources.
